Note: This listing is for the high-tube adapter only. Pistol grip, buffer tube, buttstock and rail in the photos are not included.
Mesa Tactical’s Telescoping Stock Conversion Kit replaces the standard buttstock with an adapter that accepts A.R style collapsible stocks and pistol grips. High tube conversion kits have a stock height that is designed for flattop height, rail mounted optic systems.
The stock adaptors are investment cast aircraft grade aluminum, CNC machined and powdercoated black with a tough, chemical resistant finish.
The concept is simple: the shotgun stock is replaced by an adaptor that mimics the stock attachment point of an A.R lower receiver. This adaptor accepts an A.R receiver buffer tube (not included). The A.R collapsible stock and pistol grip (not included) can then be reliably attached to the shotgun.
All High Tube adaptors accept push-button sling swivels. Note: Blanking plates to cover holes (see pictures) no longer provided by Mesa.
No gunsmithing is required to install.
Because the stock and grip interfaces of the Mesa Tactical High-tube telescoping stock adaptor are almost identical to a real A.R rifle, this adaptor can accept almost any stock or grip combination made for the A.R. The only known limitation concerns duckbill style grips that, while they will still fit on the adaptor, would probably need to have the duckbill filed off before use.
Note: These adaptors were designed for the 12ga Remington 870, it will also fit the 20ga 870 as well as the 7600 and 7615 which use the same sized receiver as the 20ga 870. As this receiver is slightly smaller in height/width than the 12ga, there will be a slight difference in size (overhang) where the adaptor meets the receiver. The slight difference in size is a minor cosmetic issue, and does not affect performance.
