New for 2020! Our new Long Range Hybrid Target™ (LRHT™) bullets feature an improved center of gravity and ballistic coefficient by utilizing our newest advancement in bullet production processes, our innovative Meplat Reduction Technology™ (MRT™).
Our LRHT™ line features a total of six different offerings ranging from 22 caliber up to 30 caliber. We designed each offering around a specific long range shooting discipline, such as Fullbore/Palma, F-TR, F-Open, PRS, and NRL. Each of these new bullets started with an optimized hybrid design, which means they are incredibly easy to tune to your rifle and have great Ballistic Coefficients (BCs). We took those already fantastic designs and merged them with our patented MRT™ system to create a bullet that further improves the BC while actually creating a more consistent and reliable BC than a typical open tip match grade bullet would normally achieve.

Hybrid Ogive
Hybrid Ogives blend the best aspects of tangent and secant nose shapes into one ogive. Near the bearing surface, the shape starts off as a tangent, which makes it easy to tune, then transitions to a secant ogive, which results in a flatter trajectory and less wind drift.
MRT™
Our patented Meplat Reduction Technology (MRT) increases Ballistics Coefficient (BC) while decreasing BC variability. This means less vertical dispersion, less wind drift, and the highest hit percentage on target.
Consistent Core
Our exacting core manufacturing process is one of the reasons when you buy a box of Berger, you don’t have to worry about sorting by weight. This gives you more reliable drop, consistent BC, and better accuracy.
Boat Tail
Boat Tail bullets provide an aerodynamic advantage at longer ranges over their flat base counterparts, especially while transitioning from transonic to subsonic velocities.
J4 Target Jacket
J4 Precision Bullet Jackets are the #1 choice of custom bullet manufacturers. They are the most consistent and concentric copper jackets in the world holding an unprecedented +/- .0003” tolerance. The most precise jacket produces a Berger bullet with the lease amount of dispersion at all ranges.
What is Meplat Reduction Technology (MRT)?
Berger Production Engineer, Garett Stoddard, spearheaded the MRT™ development project, along with merging its new technology with existing production techniques. Garett stated, “The new MRT™ System takes consistency beyond the envelope. Every bullet nose is formed with optimal swage pressure determined by force instead of length. In addition to reducing a projectile’s drag by shrinking its meplat diameter, this technique takes the inherent meplat inconsistencies that plague OTM (Open Tip Match) style projectiles and brings them closer to the rotational axis. This is a key factor to the consistent balance of the bullet in flight.”
